In a message sent to employees at the LDJ5 warehouse Wednesday, shortly after the agency’s decision, Amazon tried to persuade workers to take the side of the rookie union. The message said the union will “continue to promise you things like better wages and benefits just to get your support”, but “you can get more or less the same as you have now” when paying union dues.
Mr. Smalls said the idea that workers would earn less as a result of joining a union was a “blatant lie” and was not effective. “We certainly know that Amazon will make anti-union propaganda, but that is to be expected,” he said.
