Apple Delays and Changes Back-to-Office Plans

In a blow to efforts to normalize its operations, Apple suspended its requirement that its employees return to the office at least three days a week this month due to the resurgence of Covid-19 cases.

The comeback was welcome news for the thousands of employees who opposed the company’s request to start coming to the office three days a week in late May. Earlier this month, the group calling itself “Apple Together” published a letter He urges his executive team to allow for a hybrid and flexible work schedule, saying they can collaborate remotely using online tools like Slack and spend hours commuting.

One of Apple’s leading artificial intelligence engineers, Ian Goodfellow resigns Early May due to office return policy. Mr Goodfellow did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

In a note to employees on Tuesday, Apple said it will move forward with a pilot program in the coming weeks to bring some workers back to the office twice a week. It was said that anyone “who is uncomfortable coming into the office” will have the “option to work remotely” in this program.

The company also required employees arriving on campus to wear masks in common areas and elevators. He said he would continue to monitor Covid cases and provide employees with updates at least two weeks before any future changes in office policy.

The pandemic hit less than a year after Apple celebrated the opening of its new $5 billion headquarters in Cupertino, California, a bouncing circular building resembling a spaceship. It has been largely unused for the past two years.
