“Saturday Night Live” isn’t necessarily a show known for its season-end cliffhangers, but once this long-running NBC sketch show arrives final last mayMany of the veteran cast had question marks.

But on Monday, NBC announced that nearly all of the “SNL” cast from last season would be returning to the show: This includes Davidson, Strong, Bryant, and McKinnon, as well as Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che. Like Kenan Thompson, who has been on the show since 2003 with Chris Redd, Heidi Gardner and Ego Nwodim.
However, Beck Bennett, who joined “SNL” in 2013 and played characters such as Wolf Blitzer, Mike Pence, Vladimir Putin and Vin Diesel, is not returning to the show. In a post on her Instagram accountBennett did not give a reason for his departure, but wrote, “Thank you for the extraordinary people and incredible experiences that have completely changed my life over the course of 8 years.”
Lauren Holt, who appeared as a featured actress on “SNL” last season, will also not be returning to the show.
NBC said Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman, who both appear to be featured actors, were promoted to full roster members.
“SNL” also adds three new featured players for next season: Aristotle Athari, a member of the sketch group goat face; In TV shows like “Tuca & Bertie” and “Hail, Caesar!” James Austin Johnson, who starred in the movie and a viral series of Donald Trump impressions; and Sarah Sherman, who worked on “The Eric Andre Show.”
“Saturday Night Live” will begin its 47th season this Saturday with an episode hosted by Owen Wilson and featuring musical guest Kacey Musgraves.
