That way, she could throw a Zoom birthday party with her friends, go for a walk with her mom, and enjoy her dad’s tacos without worrying about potential side effects.
“It’s not a great feeling to get vaccinated, but I know I have to, so I suck it up,” she said.
Later that week, he went to the Javits Center in Manhattan for his shot, causing an explosion of excitement as he imagined a new school year that could improve over last year. Sebastian’s school offered a mix of face-to-face and distance learning last year, and he missed hitting his friends in the hallways on the days he was away. And remote lessons over Zoom, he said, are breaking the distinction between home and school.
