Caeleb Dressel Leads the USA to Victory in the 4×100-M Freestyle Relay


The United States won the 4x100m freestyle relay on Monday, surpassing Italy in the third-fastest relay in history.

The Americans held a wire-to-wire explanation race. Caeleb Dressel gave the USA the early lead and Blake Pieroni caught him midway. Bowen Becker gave Americans home take Zach Apple a half-body-length tip.

Men from Russia were expected to give the US men their toughest competition, but they failed to reach the podium. Australia won the bronze medal.
