Dagny Carlsson, believed to be the world’s oldest blogger who documented her life in Sweden and spread the message that age should not limit happiness, has died. He was 109 years old.
Her friend Elena Strom announced her death. He did not say where or when Miss Carlsson died.
Miss Carlsson started it blog In 2011, under the name of Bojan, he took a computer course at the age of 99.
“You are never too old to learn, I am proof of the proverbial truth,” he wrote in a blog post. “So, if you really want it.”
Ms. Carlsson had thousands of followers and appeared regularly on Swedish television and radio. In March 2018, Swedish King Carl XVI met with Gustaf and his wife, Queen Silvia, at the royal palace in Stockholm.
Ms Carlsson described herself on her blog as “a tough aunt who likes most things”, with a sense of humor and “somewhat outspoken”. Each post was accompanied by a picture – sometimes of Miss Carlsson herself, sometimes of flowers or nature.
Ms Carlsson wrote about her gym routines, her thoughts on friendship, and her loneliness during the coronavirus pandemic in candid, friendly prose. Ms. Strom was a frequent guest contributor to the blog.
“I feel satisfied when I write,” Ms Carlsson told Al Jazeera in 2017. documentary. “Better late than never.”
Dagny Valborg Eriksson was born on May 8, 1912, in Kristianstad in southern Sweden, the oldest of five children.
After eight years of school, he got a job in a shirt factory and worked there for 20 years. She then worked in a corset factory north of Stockholm, where she met her second husband when she was 39 years old. He later worked at the Swedish Social Insurance Institution.
Ms. Carlsson became passionate about cancer research after her husband died of anal cancer in her 80s. CancerFonden, a Swedish non-profit organization, wrote: Web site He said that he left his apartment and painting collection to the organization in his will.

Ms. Carlsson continued to live independently until last year, when she was moved to a nursing home. In his last blog post on January 28, “110. she is looking forward to celebrating my birthday in May, preferably with a small party,” she wrote.
Dozens of reviewers responded to this post and thanked Ms. Carlsson for her inspiration. “You really proved it,” one fan wrote, “and it’s never too late to start living and thinking positively.”
