Financier and Aerial Photographer Robert Haas Dies aged 74


“The lesson we both learned is that the best thing you can do is have good partners and relationships with love, trust and respect.” Mr. Haas told The New York Times in 1988:. “We have a special ability to dispel each other’s bad ideas.”

After breaking up with Mr Hicks in 1989, Mr. Haas founded the private equity firm Haas & Partners, which would later become Haas, Wheat & Partners. His deep dive into aerial photography became equally passionate about motorcycles nearly 10 years ago. Last year, Mr. Haas decided to return the bikes he commissioned to their builders. He told them he wanted to return to the “children of your souls,” as he told them in a scene filmed in “Leaving Traces.”
