Forever Bride and Groom Together as a Now Married Couple

Mr Pasqualone agreed. “The biggest thing that brought us together was the concept of family,” she said, unable to hold back her tears. “This was very important to me because when I saw him with my children, how he communicated with them and how he interacted with my family, that was something I loved to see.”

What the couple has in common is that both of their families are from Abruzzo, an Italian region east of Rome with the Adriatic coastline.

They visited Abruzzo three years ago and learned within minutes of arriving that they were going to attend a funeral there. Mr. Pasqualone said, “Here we are, jet lagged, tired and hungry, and about 45 of my relatives speak Italian at the same time as Denise, and she’s like, ‘What’s going on here?’ says,” he said.

“She had the impression we were going to Italy for a romantic getaway,” she continued, “and here we’re going out into the Apennine Mountains in black and we’re going to wake up, but Denise made it all right and I look at that moment as an eye-opening moment in our relationship.”

They continued to support each other and each other’s projects.

“I directed Denise’s online show ‘Late Night Catechism’ and she directed my touring solo show ‘Channeling the King’,” Mr. Pasqualone said. “All I can say is, if you can marry your best friend, I highly recommend it.”
