The lead singer of British alternative pop group Glass Animals, who was nominated for best new artist, tested positive for coronavirus, and the group said all its members have decided not to attend the awards ceremony. Instagram post Sunday.
The post said that Dave Bayley was the only one out of four band members to test positive, but the entire band would fall behind.
Bayley said, “My heart is so broken. “Not just within myself, but for everyone who has worked insanely hard with us over the past few chaotic years, and for each of you who have supported and believed enough to bring us into this project the hard and subtle way.”
The group’s song “Heat Waves” is currently the #1 song in the country and has topped Billboard’s singles chart for the past four weeks.
