Hollywood Syndicates Agree to Relax Pandemic Protocols on Movie Sets

Hollywood’s leading syndicates agreed on a short-term plan Monday night to loosen some pandemic protocols on production sets, even as the Delta variant escalates and Los Angeles County enforces a mask requirement for indoor settings.

The deal, which will run until the end of September, will allow studios to require everyone on a set to be vaccinated, reduce the rate of regular coronavirus testing, and relax mask requirements in outdoor settings.

The arrangement was decided upon by studios represented by the Directors Guild of America, the International Alliance of Theater Stage Workers, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Screen Actors Guild-Federation of American Television and Radio Artists, and the Motion Pictures Alliance. and Television Producers.

The parties said they will continue to monitor Covid-19 developments and “consider making further changes”.
