The resurgent epidemic continues to wreak havoc on the performing arts in New York and disrupt the late-night comedy programs produced there. On Tuesday, NBC’s “Late Night” host Seth Meyers said he has tested positive for the coronavirus and that recordings of his show will be canceled by the end of the week.
In a tweet released Tuesday morning, Meyers wrote: “The bad news is that I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) The good news is that I’m feeling good (thanks to vaccinations and vaccinations!)” from the audience “to see what great place we’ll try and pass as the studio next to us.” The remote format that asks them to watch “Monday” is next week!

His on-air ability was tested daily on “Late Night,” and according to someone familiar with the operations on the show and given anonymity because that person wasn’t authorized to speak in public, Meyers tested negative on Monday. NBC declined to comment beyond Meyers’ post on Twitter.
