Two locally grown butternut squashes. This flavorful winter squash is green on the outside with dense orange flesh on the inside that’s an excellent source of vitamin A. Though it may look similar to a kabocha squash, the butternut has a distinct ridge on the bottom and the base points in rather than out. With a sweet, nutty flavor and creamy texture, we prefer steaming or baking this type of squash to keep the tasty flesh from losing moisture.
Great for soups or stews!
