Suspension lifted for Netflix employee who criticized Dave

A transgender Netflix employee who was suspended after criticizing a new Dave Chappelle stand-up show said he was reinstated late Tuesday.

“At least I feel like I was right,” the employee said. Terra Field wrote on Twitter.

All in one, Netflix reported to have been suspended after three employees attend a virtual business meeting of senior company executives without being invited. Netflix said in an earlier statement that Ms. Field was not suspended due to tweets criticizing Mr Chappelle’s show.

Mr. Chappelle’s comedy special “The Closer” premiered on Netflix on October 5 and was quickly criticized by several organizations, including GLAAD, for “taunting trans people”.

Field, a software engineer at Netflix, tweeted last week that the special “attacks the trans community and the reality of transgenderness”.

Tuesday’s Twitter post included correspondence with the company that said it had been fully reinstated. “Our investigation did not find that you attended the QBR meeting with any malicious intent and that you don’t really think there is anything wrong with requesting access to that meeting,” the note said. “And when a director shared the link, it further supported that this is a meeting you can attend.”

Ms. Field added to her tweet, “I’m going to take a few days off to turn up the pressures and try to figure out where I am.”
