Why are there so few gin drinkers? Everyone drinks vodka or, in some cases, white rum. Ah. I’m a big gin fan and have had friends, my local liquor store, acquaintances who brought me gin recommendations based on something unusual. And New York state leprechauns are something people are talking about right now. Now, if he’s not from England, forget it. Absolutely non-drinkable. My niece’s boyfriend brought me a bottle of gin three weeks ago and I thought, “Oh, this is an exciting and beautiful label and I can’t wait to try it.” Oh my god, I thought I was going to die of poison. [Walks to his bar to look at the brand] From Darkness and Rochester. This is a stunning bottle. It’s called Barr Hill Reserve Tom Cat Gin and it has a nice B on the stopper. [A loud crash] Error. Here goes my bar. Tom rejects Cat.

I love Mumbai. Although I love restaurant martinis, I usually drink gin and tonic. I’m not sure I like Tim Gunn’s martinis. There’s something really cool about having a martini outside. And it’s kind of sad that he’s home

5. “Schitt’s Creek”

I was excited for Season 1 when it first aired. I couldn’t get past two episodes. I thought: “This is terrible. I can’t stand this show.” And I left. Then when I came back for Season 4, I thought, “Oh my god, in some ways this is a different show.” I was impressed that he had matured in a way. I can’t get enough of this. I even try to squeeze it into a 22-minute episode a day just because it takes me to a happy place.

6. Little Island

i am a big fan Diller-von Furstenberg philanthropy. Thanks to them we have the High Line. And now we have Little Island. It’s beautiful, delicately made, but doesn’t feel precious. You feel like you could throw the picnic blanket and eat there. This is a remarkable, remarkable piece, and frankly, I saw the architectural plans and thought, “This is very ambitious. How can this be accomplished?” An even bigger statement in real life.

7. “Tootsie”, Musical

Another show I’ve watched three times. The cast was amazing. The article is great. Songs are funny if they don’t touch your heart. I loved the movie. Definitely not one of my Top 10, maybe not even one of my Top 100. But the musical, if not, is one of the Top 10 musicals of all time. top. It’s very nicely told and uplifting without being saccharine and ridiculous. It’s just plain laugh-it-you-get-too-fun. I hope he returns to Broadway.

8. Nora Ephron’s Trials

These essays are somewhat like the written version of “Schitt’s Creek.” They’re just so purifying and cathartic. He says what’s on his mind and names things exactly as they are, with humor, wit, and lots of irony. I’ve read and re-read them and I’m laughing just as much. Everyone should have at least one skin and have it at hand.
