Witness Says Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Fight Damaged Home

The property manager of an Australian home where Johnny Depp and Amber Heard stayed during their tumultuous marriage in 2015 testified on Monday about the damage he was investigating in the wake of one of their fiercest conflicts.

Manager Ben King said he toured the place after the fight and found broken glass, blood drops, a damaged bar table and a collapsed ping-pong table.

It was after a symbolic episode. dueling charges filling defamation case filed by Mr. Depp against Mrs. Heard. Mr. Depp said that during that fight Ms. Heard threw a vodka bottle at him, which broke and cut his fingertip. He said he cut a phone himself when he hit a wall.

Mr. King said he found Mr. Depp’s fingertip on a “crumpled” piece of paper in the middle of the wreckage.

The property manager’s statement came after Mr Depp finished his fourth and final day on the podium at the Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia. During his deposition, Mr. Depp described how his relationship with Ms. Heard had unraveled, arguing that she was “broken” by the experience, sometimes using flashy remarks or pantomime strokes, saying the woman had aimed at him.

“That’s where I’m at, psychologically, emotionally,” he said when questioned by one of his lawyers on Monday. “I was at the end.”

In court documents, Ms Heard accused Mr Depp of repeatedly harassing him throughout their relationship, alleging that he slapped, kicked, slapped her on the head and plucked her hair from her scalp. In 2018, she wrote an opinion piece in The Washington Post describing how her career had been negatively impacted by her becoming a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

The piece did not name Mr. Depp, but argued that it openly implied him and damaged his career and reputation.

Mr. Depp had previously sued The Sun in England for making a headline calling him “beating the wife”. He lost this case in 2020.

Mr. Depp and Mrs. Heard met when Mrs. Heard was cast as Mr. Depp’s girlfriend in the 2011 movie “The Rum Diary.” They got married in 2015 and divorced in 2017.

Testifying on Monday, Mr. Depp said he learned in an interview with a Disney executive published two days after Ms. film. Mr Depp said he said he wanted the characters in the movies, including Captain Jack Sparrow, to have a “true farewell”.

It turns out that Mr. Depp mentioned 2018 Hollywood Reporter interview With Disney executive Sean Bailey, the reporter asked, “Can pirates survive without Johnny Depp?” he asked in an interview. Mr. Bailey said he wanted to bring “new energy and vitality” to a possible “Pirates” reboot.

“I was suddenly guilty until proven innocent,” Mr. Depp said.

During Mr Depp’s cross-examination on Monday, Ms. Heard’s lawyers argued that the actor’s reputation was in decline long before the 2018 article. 2017 Hollywood Reporter article calls it the “star in crisis” and another “Johnny Depp’s diminishing returns.”

“This is a series of hits produced by Ms. Heard’s promotional team,” replied Mr. Depp.

Mr Depp said he had never hit Ms Heard – nor any woman – and that he was the aggressor in the relationship and insulted her using derogatory language that turned into physical violence. Ms Heard denied hitting Mr Depp except in self-defense or defending his sister.

There can be little doubt that the atmosphere between the two is sometimes provocative.

During cross-examination, Mr. Depp was confronted with text messages in which he referred to others, Ms. Heard, using vulgar insults; “It’s disrespectful and abstract humor,” Mr Depp said on Monday, in response to a particularly striking and violent text message about Ms. Heard.

Mr King testified that he was working at a residence owned by Mr Depp in London, as well as at his home in Australia, where Mr Depp was staying during the filming of one of the “Pirates” movies.

He said he had seen and heard many arguments between Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard. Mr King added that these tend to follow a pattern in which Mr. Depp would leave a room and Mrs. Heard would follow. Mr King said a dispute in London began when Mrs Heard asked Mr Depp why he had taken his hand away from him, and he thought he sounded like a “spoiled young boy”.

Mr. King testified that Mr. Depp was called home after his finger was amputated, and recalled Mrs. Heard crying as he entered. The facilities are in disarray, he said. A piece of a marble staircase was broken off. Blood had stained the carpet and scratched several walls.

Mr. King said there was the smell of alcohol and cans strewn next to a bar downstairs. He began to look at that area, and soon said that he found the tip of his finger “integrated” with a bloody piece of paper. Mr. King then placed it in a plastic bag so it could be taken to a hospital, he added.

Mr. Depp’s finger was later surgically repaired.
